Being a Yorkshire girl at heart, I was over the moon when James & Beth asked me to photograph their wedding not far from my home town, in the BEAUTIFUL East Yorkshire countryside at the foot of the Wolds.
Their wedding was on the 23rd of June, just before the great heatwave of 2018 really kicked in. However, the weather played nice, the rain stayed away (pretty remarkable for Yorkshire!) but it wasn't so hot that everyone was melting!
Their ceremony was at the most stunning little church in Great Givendale, a lovely hamlet where James & Beth live together. The ceremony was kept small and intimate, mainly due to the size of the church, and was followed by a marquee reception in one of the fields of James' farm just up the road from the church.
The marquee was decorated to perfection, most of which was home made and home grown, and it all just had the nicest feel about it. The speeches were all hilariously funny, and beth's sisters even wrote a song and put together a slideshow for them. I usually manage to keep it together during the speeches but I have to say, this got me. So funny but so touching at the same time, no wonder Beth was in tears throughout!
Love, fun and games really was at the centre of this wedding from start to finish. Before the wedding, James & Beth got matching moustache tattoos (see photo evidence below!), they had a bouncy castle, the bridesmaids planned a surprise game of Mr. & Mrs, much to everyones amusement, and the night was finished off with a surprise firework display put on by Beth's sister, Harriet & her husband.
It was a truly unique day, and represented these two completely! I was totally stoked to hear shortly afterwards that they are now expecting a little one in March next year! Can't wait to hear all about baby Simpson when he or she arrives!
Here's a snippet of their day! x
