Last week I had the pleasure of doing a maternity shoot for the lovely Amy. I did the shoot at Amy and her fiancee, George's, apartment, which will be their baby's first home. I love doing lifestyle shoots in the home, I think it allows the mummy-to-be to feel relaxed and comfortable and the photographs mean more to you as a couple when looking back in years to come. My idea is that by having a maternity shoot in your home it takes you right back to a very special time in your lives, the months leading up to the birth of your first child, in a home that will always be your first family home.
I know a lot of women during pregnancy find it a very strange time. New things are happening to your body and you are changing in ways you didn't know were possible! A lot of women say to me they don't like the idea of having a maternity shoot done, as they feel "fat" or bigger than normal. But what your body is doing is totally amazing, and you look flipping beautiful! Every woman I know who has had a shoot done has always been so glad that they decided to do it. Not only does it document one of the most amazing times in your life, but having a photo shoot done can show you how beautiful you and that bump are.
After her shoot, Amy told me that she had felt a bit apprehensive before hand, but that she actually felt really comfortable during the shoot and ended up really enjoying herself.
Amy and George are expecting their first baby in March this year and their Newborn shoot is already in the diary! Can't wait to meet you, Baby B!
